Attractions and Places to Visit in County Antrim

Castles are plentiful in Ireland, dating back hundreds of years. Many structures still stand to this very day, and one of the most impressive castles on the island of Ireland is Dunluce Castle which is located along Antrim's North Coast. Sitting on the edge of the cliff, the scenery at Dunluce Castle is simply breathtaking and it is regarded as the inspiration for Cair Paravel in C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia books.

For those of you with a head for heights, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge is another must see attraction along Antrim's North Coast. Even if you aren't a fan of heights, this spectacular rope bridge must be experienced, as the surrounding area is home to diverse birdlife, amazing coastal views and outstanding natural beauty.

It is this natural beauty and unspoilt landscape that makes Antrim such a popular part of Northern Ireland to visit. Small towns like Bushmills, Ballyclare and Ballycastle all offer a perfect location for a short getaway, with Bushmills being home to the famous Bushmills Distillery, another attraction that you simply must see. Visit the distillery on a week day to enjoy it in all its glory, and sample a taste of the North Coast at the end of your journey.
