TWO men and a woman in Northern Ireland have died following separate car accidents.
Two men, aged 75 and 82, died following a crash in Ballymoney, Co Antrim.
The woman, aged 68, has died in hospital following a separate incident in Dungannon, Co Tyrone.
The PSNI confirmed that the Antrim crash, which took the lives of the two men, occurred at around 1.10pm.
Police received a report of a two-vehicle collision involving a lorry and a car on the Frosses Road.
Roads Inspector Cherith Adair, from the Collision Investigation Unit, said: “At approximately 1.10pm police received a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision involving a lorry and a car on the Frosses Road, Ballymoney.”
Emergency services rushed to the scene but the driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger was later pronounced dead in hospital.
Cops in Northern Ireland are appealing for witnesses to come forward following the incident.
Adair added: “Officers along with colleagues from other emergency services attended but sadly the driver of the car died at the scene, and the passenger died a short time later in hospital.
“Officers from the Collision Investigation Unit examining the circumstances of the collision, are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened or to anyone with CCTV, dash-cam or other footage that could assist with enquiries, to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 757 25/10/24.”
The woman, who has been named by police as 68-year-old Nora Hagan, was struck shortly after 4pm on the Woodlough Road in Dungannon.
Emergency services arrived at the scene of a two car collision involving a white Ford Transit and a grey Audi A4 on Wednesday, October 16.
Nora was rushed to hospital but sadly died on Friday from her injuries.
Adair said: “Shortly after 4pm, officers attended a report of a collision involving a white Ford Transit and a grey Audi A4, together with colleagues from partner emergency services.
“The passenger of the car, 68-year-old Nora Hagan, who was from the Cookstown area, was taken to hospital where she has since passed away.
“The female driver of the car and the male driver of the van were both taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries.
“Officers from the Collision Investigation Unit are examining the circumstances of the collision, and would like to hear from witnesses, or anyone who may have captured dashcam or other footage, who may be able to assist with their enquiries.
