Darren Gleeson resigns as Antrim hurling manager with county chair paying tribute to ‘transformative period’

ANTRIM are beginning the search for a new senior hurling boss following the departure of Darren Gleeson.

The former Tipperary goalkeeper has announced his decision to step down after five years in charge.

In his first season at the helm, Gleeson guided Antrim to promotion to Division 1 of the National League and a Joe McDonagh Cup title.

McDonagh success was achieved again in 2022 and the Saffrons have managed to retain their top-tier Championship status ever since.

Wins over Wexford and Carlow ensured that Gleeson’s successor will oversee their third consecutive Leinster SHC campaign in 2025.
